How to calculate asphalt
Volume = Length × Width × Thickness. Divide cubic feet by 27 for cubic yards, then multiply by about 1.95 tons per cubic yard (hot-mix asphalt ≈ 145 lb/cu ft). Asphalt is usually ordered by the ton.
